Robert Crumb speaks on the
Charlie Hebdo shootings. His comic response is out there on the internet but you're going to have to seek it out for yourself; it's not that offensive, actually - it sounds way worse than it is - but no wayyyyy am I going to put myself in the firing line on this one!

You know, it's a weird thing, that there are so many comedians these days who are trying to bait totalitarian dictators and extremists... First The Interview and now Charlie Hebdo. I guess I'm a bit more isolationist in my tendencies - I have no great desire to pick fights with dictatorships, terrorists, or radical extremists far removed from my life. I guess I feel some admiration for people who take these risks but I also wonder about hubris and self-importance and so forth; what did Charlie Hebdo expect, for one, and how do they think that what they did is going to make the world better, exactly? It's kind of the flipside of the "We Are The World" single, there's a real arrogance at work, though definitely also bravery... I dunno, tho'...
