The Still Spirits left to right, complete with nicknames: Wes "Chesterson" Coderre, David "Daddy Long Legs" Gough, Jonny "Bones" Aaron, Erik "Skiff" Kallweit, Willie "B" Sober and Jeremy "Dumb Stumps" Addinel. Jonny says the photo credit should either go to his sister, Shandi Aaron, or his girlfriend, Samantha Gajdos; he's not sure who took what, since they were both taking pictures that day. Short version of the Straight piece: There is a Still Spirits gig coming up in February and a gig tonight at Green Auto, with people paying tribute to Bones. I won't be there -- wife is sick with this nasty high-fever flu, and I'm not feeling great, so it's all I can do to hold down the fort. The Still Spirits make music like it's 1926, but tonight will be pretty varied, from acoustic folk (Skellytune) to reggae rock (Space Chimp) to ska (Brehdren) to rude, funny skate punk (the Fomites) to brutal "meta rap" (Wettworker) to -- hey, Dusty's gonna be there!
