From Vietnam infantryman to underground revolutionary to free jazz violinist who collaborated with (among others) Sun Ra, Sirone, Charles Tyler, William Hooker and William Parker, Billy Bang led a more interesting life than most, at least according to
his Wikipedia page. I have a couple of CDs with him on them... My respects...
