Reminding y'all - Oshima's
In the Realm of the Senses,
Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, and
Empire of Passion play at the Cinematheque this weekend, two dollars of each ticket being donated to the Red Cross for relief work in Japan (where there have been mixed successes and outrages, if
the media is accurate. Even Japanese fishermen aren't very impressed about the dumping of radioactive water. Add to my rant below that Japan is a bit behind the rest of the world in terms of environmental safety standards... Still, the main leak appears to have been plugged...).
