Pete, it's great to "hear" your voice again. And, Jeff, thanks for documenting this and all the other Pink Steel history that you've done. I still kick myself that I quite Pink Steel just a little too soon. I would love to have laid down a solo on one of those 45's. It was great to read your story here, Pete. I would love to re-connect sometime. I'm easy to find as there still aren't too many Tomo's around. Let's get high on music one more time!!
TomoAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07792999500899521038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8762075.post-62221095154887739592016-12-05T10:28:57.862-08:002016-12-05T10:28:57.862-08:00Pete! I've been a fan since seeing Pink Steel...Pete! I've been a fan since seeing Pink Steel play a gig at Spectrum way back in high school :-) Still have the 45 kicking around somewhere too.
I'm writing a novel part of which takes place in 1984 Vancouver and the music scene back then and I'm hoping you'd be up for me quoting some of your Pink Steel lyrics in the book.
Credit will be certainly given! Please let me know if you're good with me doing that.
Great to see you're still getting out there and performing!

Dave Goossen
dave@davegoossen.com
http://davegoossen.comDave Goossenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01392739585950154963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8762075.post-18099839476334965962016-04-25T20:59:37.084-07:002016-04-25T20:59:37.084-07:00Wow!!!...Steve Freakin' Bailey of the MF Neos!...Wow!!!...Steve Freakin' Bailey of the MF Neos!!...once again Allan MacInnes' blog has made my day....one of the stories of the Victoria scene that I omitted for brevity's (!!!!) sake was this:
Even though we were never 'punk, the other much cooler bands in the city were for the most part kind to us, despite the fact that they weren't fans of Pink Steel...i remember at one gig I went to pat little Steve Neo on the shoulder in a friendly older brother kind of way....he stopped my hand in mid-pat to point out that I probably didn't want to do that as he had razor blades pinned to the shoulders of his leather jacket!!
A fond memory indeed of a very good dude and great local musician....although the potential scar on my hand may have lasted infinitely longer than my rapidly fading memory...
Pete CampbellPetehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13366171714959330287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8762075.post-55086218733255465692016-04-22T20:33:13.846-07:002016-04-22T20:33:13.846-07:00Thanks so much for doing this interview with Pete ...Thanks so much for doing this interview with Pete Campbell. Pete was always one of the shining lights of the Victoria music scene. We punks used to give Pete and Pink Steel such a hard time because they just weren't punk enough, but when they weren't there to hear we played their records and talked about what great guys they were, especially Pete. I'm so glad that he has continued to make music no matter what setbacks he's faced. You rock Pete!
Steve Bailey, Victoria, BCSteve Bailey (NEOS)https://www.blogger.com/profile/07167958374703711657noreply@blogger.com
